In its simplest form, Bars® is similar to gentle acupressure and a supercharged meditation, where a practitioner (who can be as young as 2yrs old!) touches 32 points on and around the head to allow energetic blockages in the brain to release. This happens as we let go of the energetic friction or resistance we have, often unconsciously, about any sort of beliefs, ideas, rules, etc that we have picked up from our family, society, the media, etc that isn’t really in alignment with who we are as a unique individual but have been forcing ourselves to live our lives by these concepts, even when we think we’re doing all the right things. When we’re able to let go of what causes friction and resistance, we allow ourselves to expand and live our lives with ease, flow and abundance instead. The effect the Bars® can have shows up differently for everyone.

What you might experience from a Bars session could be so deeply relaxing that it takes you 20 minutes to come back into the current time and space of this reality before you’re able to drive home.

It could be so energizing for you and your body that you’re restless while laying on the table during the session.

It could be anywhere in between those ends of the spectrum, further out than those ends, or show up as something else entirely–there is no limit to what is possible for you to receive.

Maybe a Bars session helps you get through a busy schedule and stressful lifestyle with less anxiety or general angst about what is on your plate, and that creates ease in your marriage, more patience with your kids, or better sleep when your head finally hits the pillow at night.

It could help you more easily honor your body, so you’re able to stick with a diet program longer, not because you just want to lose some weight, but because sticking to a certain way of eating makes you feel better and you’re not willing to resist feeling good anymore or put yourself through feeling yucky if you stop making those dietary changes.

Students often do better on tests.

Pregnant women often have easier deliveries.

People with PTSD benefit from having their Bars run.

It can even have such a dramatic effect for people feeling suicidal that for the whole month of September every year, many Bars Practitioners offer free sessions for anyone to experience it, in honor of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.

Having your Bars run helps you choose for you and not against you, so you make choices that move you into new patterns and habits that contribute to you. You’re able to let go of judging yourself or making yourself wrong for choosing or not choosing anything that fits or doesn’t fit in alignment with YOU, no matter what anyone else is or isn’t choosing or what they think.

You begin to emerge with more confidence as your life becomes more ease-y. Stronger. Happier. More of YOU. Less adhered to what DOESN’T work for you.

A Bars session is ideally an hour-long or longer session of its own. When you come in for your appointment with me, I ask how you’re doing–physically and mentally. If you’re having physical concerns as well as desiring to have your Bars run, we can split a session to do some of both massage and Bars. How often you choose to have your Bars run is up to you. I often have my Bars run 2-4 times a month if I can.

If it’s something you really enjoy and would like to experience it more often, I invite you to take the class with me so you can learn how to run Bars too. Once you’ve taken the class, you’re able to participate in Bars Exchanges with other Bars Practitioners in the area (and worldwide–there are practitioners in over 170 countries who you can arrange exchanges with if you’re traveling) whenever you choose. I also host Bars Exchanges at my office every 3 weeks on Tuesday evenings for anyone who has taken the class to gift and receive a Bars session at no cost.

What else is possible? What might this contribute to you in your life?
